I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize next month's boxing match.

Former twice world boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really happening.
